Volumen Cero is Luis Tamblay (vocals/bass), Marthin Chan (guitar and Keys) and Josh Sonntag (Guitar). Based out of Echo Park, California. Volumen Cero, posses’ a diverse Latin American background, hailing from Chile, Peru and Mexico. Representing a new generation of Latinos in the U.S. This bilingual and bicultural trio offers a fresh take on Rock and Roll. They fluidly transit through both Latin and Anglo worlds. Volumen Cero was born in 1998 out of sub-scenes of Miami.
“Andromeda” was the first album VC released on Grita Records in 1998.
“Luces” their second full album released on Warner Music Latin in 2002. The release of “Hollywood” the first single from this album, Volumen Cero, began their journey into becoming a successful band to break from the U.S. Latin Alternative scene. “Hollywood’s” video featuring Porn Star Ron Jeremy and Beto Cuevas was directed by Grammy nominated Simon Brandt. In just a few months, Volumen Cero, had its first #1 on radio in Santo Domingo and Puerto Rico. The single “Hollywood” lasted 16 weeks on top of the charts in the Latin Alternative chart of R &R Magazine.
In 2004 they released “Estelar” on Warner Music Latin. “Autos” the first single from the album “Estelar” spent over 10 weeks in the #1 spot and 20 weeks in the top 3 spots of R&R’s Latin Rock Chart, They also got a nomination for Best Latin Rock Album by a Duo or Group in 2005. VC also landed on “Los Diez Mas Pedidos” on MTV Latin America.
