Virginio Simonelli

Virginio Simonelli, also known as Virginio, (born 31 January 1985 in Fondi, Lazio, Italy) is an Italian pop singer. In 2010 Virginio took part in the 10th edition of the Italian talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi, in which he became winner.

After studying graphic at Accademia delle Belle Arti in Milan, he comes into contact with the manager of a record company, Ivo Grasso (his teacher) with whom he began to collaborate.

In 2006 he took part in Sanremo with his song Davvero and later he published his songs Instabile and Novembre, but they were not successful. On October 2, 2010, he took part in Amici di Maria De Filippi and on March 6, 2011, he won. On March 8 he published his second studio album Finalmente and his songs Ad occhi chiusi and Sale with their music videos. The album has sold over 30,000 copies and it was certified gold.
