The now defunct Ved Buens Ende (Norwegian for At the end of the Rainbow) were basically quite unknown in the course of its existence but gained widespread accolades on the underground scene in the following years. Perhaps the audience weren´t accustomed for such an unconventional approach to the genres as early as in the mid-1990s.
Ved Buens Ende was formed in 1994 by singer/drummer Aggressor (born Carl-Michael Eide) and guitarist Vicotnik (born Yusuf Parvaz) from Manes with bassist Skoll (born Hugh Steven James Mingray).
Later in the year, the band debuted with the mcd Those who Caress the Pale. The music had a rather non-conventional approach to black metal, but the album achieved only minor attention. In 1995, Ved Buens Ende released Written in Waters, which was guested by the backing vocalist Lill Katherine Stensrud. The album gained positive response from the press, but still little commercial success. The band subsequently toured with assistance from the session singer Simen Hestnæs. However, Ved Buens Ende disbanded.
