It was late 90's when Danny (drums) and Bri (vocals) decided to form a band with which they begin to play covers of their favorite bands (AC / DC, Guns and Roses, Metallica, etc..) At parties and bars City of Mexico.
The same inertia of the music band and force them to compose their own songs and recording a demo to show in search of an opportunity. Meanwhile time passed and several members were parading different alignment within the group until Garry, bass and Dany's brother, joins them to assemble a new group called SHOCK. At this stage have the opportunity to record the theme of a television program which opens the door and takes them on tour to Panama. And this is where they realize that Mexican music is welcome in other parts of the world and that, whatever the cost, will devote everything to play for the rest of their lives.
In 2004, returning from Central America, the band recorded an EP of seven songs and presents it to Sony and Warner Music, without making these bets for his music. This is when they decide to invest all they have and buy a team (PA) audio and set up a stage to play for all schools and festivals in the metropolitan area, selling hand to hand your disk.
With this direction the group is enrolled with a manager and a company (Peer Music Publishing) and thus manage to open some doors in your way, capturing the attention of people of Univision Music, and when everything seemed to go smoothly, to an event sad and unexpected, his new manager dies, leaving a big question whether the group was worth move forward in the difficult path of music.
In 2006, the group decides to reinvent himself musically and changed its name to Varana (a Tibetan mantra which means "Find your way or your truth"). During these days know Kike (guitarist), who was lead singer and guitarist of another band and invite him to join the band.
With this change, the stars align and successfully sought to start knocking on your door when you know the restaurant owners Fisher's of Mexico, who without any knowledge of the music industry, decided to support to partner and open a independent record label: NET Music, under which they recorded their first album as Varana, produced by Jay La Cueva (Phobia, Moderatto) and name the same name.
With the experience gained, the band realizes that there are many creative ways to publicize your music through sponsors (Coca Cola, Jose Cuervo, TDU, Modelo Light) and this is where the firm rejected a major record company to follow the independent route. Composing all his songs and managing to have two singles in the top of country radio rotation, "Take Me" and "Today I want to be with you", to reach a gold record for more than 50,000 copies sold.
However, Varana also understood that to take your music to more people needed the support of a strong record as well as seeking and finding is supported by Sony Music, signed exclusivity.
After eighteen months in the recording studio, launches Varana second album called "Fearless We Die" which showed the first single "Wish You Were Here" theme of his own already heard on the radio with very good acceptance. Know them, are worth ... and discovers his record on June 22.
