Usher Retains Primary Custody of Children

Usher Retains Primary Custody of ChildrenUsher will have the primary custody of his two young sons. Tameka Raymond’s request for temporary custody of their two children, Usher V, five, and Navivyd Ely, four, was dismissed on Friday in Atlanta.

Usher Jr. almost died on Monday after nearly drowning in the pool at Usher’s house in Atlanta. The singer was not home at the time of the incident. Raymond claimed that Usher’s aunt was not trained as caregiver and she also said that her ex-husband’s house "did not have any kind of safety fence around it," and that the drain in the pool "did not have a proper cover." Tameka claimed Usher was a negligent and unresponsive father.

"I'm not in the know of what's going on with my kids. I don't know where my kids are, who they're with," Raymond said. "I can't even speak with my kids when they're with him."

Usher divorced Tameka in 2009 after almost two years of marriage and a contentious custody battle ensued for years until the musician was awarded primary custody of the children last year.
