URH was one of the most influential Hungarian alternative rock bands, however they existed only for 6 months (they played first in public at the 13th of September in 1980 and gave their last concert at the 29th of march in 1981). The original members were, Müller Péter Iván (vocals, and also the writer of almost all the lyrics), Menyhárt Jenő (guitar, vocals), Kiss László (bass, vocals), Salamon András (drums) and Somoskői Lajos (guitar, vocals - he left the band after several concerts). The two front men of the band (Müller and Menyhárt) were among the most important figures of the Hungarian alternative scene for a long time. After the band split up, Müller joined the band Kontroll Csoport to create something more artistic, and later he founded the band Sziámi, which is still active (he is also one of the organizers of the Sziget festival). Menyhárt Jenő founded the band Európa kiadó, which reached a huge success at their time, with their special sound and Menyhárt’s unique lyrics. He moved to the US in 1994, but returned to Hungary several times, and gave concerts with Európa Kiadó. Currently he is living in the US, working for Greenpeace.
