Tomas Andersson Wij

Tomas Andersson Wij (often abbreviated by fans TAW), born Thomas Per Andersson, February 6, 1972 in Stockholm (raised in the south suburbs Fruängen and Sköndal), is a Swedish singer and songwriter, but also working as a journalist.

Producer Lars Andersson Wij Halapi discovered through a simple demo tape in 1995 and produced his first two discs. Since the breakthrough with the album A blow for you, Andersson Wij toured regularly, usually alone with his guitar. Slowly, he has built a growing and devoted audience.

He has developed into a stage performer of the ranking with a DEFT guitar playing, with long, storytelling and fun between snack and an ability to create dense atmosphere. Four times he has been nominated for a Grammy.

Throughout his career he has also done songs and translations into other Swedish artists, such as Freddie Wadling, Totta Naslund and Bo Diddley. 2007 was presented TAW for the first time for the really big audience when he began Melodifestivalen final in Globen with his low-key version of Carola's schlager winner ever. The same year he received the magazine Café Great Fashion Price in category "best dressed artist."
