M. Häkkinen (Vocals), J. Savimäki (Guitar), M. Saarinen (Guitar), M. Saikkonen (Bass), J. Raatikainen (Drums), M. Pirttimäki (Synths)
It all started as our guitarists and former drummer practising together for many years. It was the late spring in 1999 when they felt the time was right to stand behind their visions as musical professionals and hire experienced members to form a solid lineup. After merciless critical searching Saikkonen seized the bassplayers ungrateful throne and Häkkinen was given the responsibilities of full-time vocalist. What followed next were months of dedicated training and when falling white covered the ashes of passing millenium our first demo “Ophions messiah” saw nightlight. It sucked. Due to low budjet and wrong choice of studio the sounds were absolutely horrible. Instead of distributing this abomination to underground we decided to lick our wounds and return to rehearsal chambers.
Year passed with couple of small live performances. When we felt the time and budjet were right we chose Sonic Pump Studios as a place of birth for our next bastard son. “The Fall of Astraea” got great reviews so it was time to approach record companies with this offspring. We received some offers from Italy and Finland but Trisol seemed to be the most interesting option. After recommendations we got from unnamed members of finnish metal scene we signed the deal.
Before the end of 2001 we returned to Sonic Pump, with new recruited synth player, to record our debut album “Cycles of worldburn”. Soon after these sessions we realized our drummer had to go. Nothing dramatical about that, after he had been blessed with a child he simply lacked dedication required for a signed band. Thyestean Feast thanks Toni for all the years together. A new drummer was foud as Mr. Raatikainen came to replace Sotikoff. At this point the rest is future yet unrevealed.
