Formed from the remains of the Philly post-hardcore band Supergrub comes The Division Group. With Ben Kenney on vocals and guitar, Neal Evans on keys and Ashley Mendel on drums, they bring a sound reminiscent of bands ranging from Bad Brains to the Police.
Ben Kenney, 27, is currently the bassist for Los Angeles rock group Incubus and is former guitarist for hip-hop group The Roots. Ben has cut his teeth doing studio work for artists like Justin Timberlake, Faith Evans, Eryka Badu, Blackalicious, and producers like Timbaland and DJ Jazzy Jeff.
Neal Evans, 28, is a founding member of the critically acclaimed funk soul jazz trio Soulive. Neal attended Manhattan School of Music, and has since earned a reputation that leaves most musicians scratching their heads: He has an uncanny ability for playing bass lines while simultaneously rocking keyboard parts.
Ashley Mendel , 22, has worked as musical director for Kate Earl and toured as guitarist for the Jazzyfatnastees.
