Synthetic Delusion was formed in 1999 by Aaron Abalos, Jeremy Portz, and Mario Mercado. At the time, all three were in other bands, but anxious to try something new and form a band that melded various agressive styles. Aaron brought his brutal guitar style and raw vocal style, Mario with his low-end hardcore influnced bass playing stlye, and Jeremy with his double-bass heavy death metal influenced drumming style. Together, they created a heavy, low end new-skool (or something?) metal band. As a three piece, the band recorded a demo at Hellion studios and distributed locally, a three song sampler CD (songs can be downloaded from the MUSIC section of the site). The sampler recieved a positive response and had a track on the June 2002 Throat Culture magazine comilation CD, including a very positive review. After numerous auditions and failed attempts with additional band members, the band finally added Jared Slain to run electronics and Nick Lawhorn to handle guitars. With the line up finalized, Synthetic Delusion has started doing shows throughout Denver. Our debut CD "Vision" is complete and available for purchase.
