In the beginning of 1999 SUPREME MAJESTY was formed, with members originating from a band that had existed some years and released an album on a larger label. However, all members felt that a complete new musical direction was imminent, so the decision was made to start up a whole new band and begin "from scratch" again, with a fresh start. Apart from the original core-members in SUPREME MAJESTY at that time, Chrille Andersson (guitars), Rille Svensson (Guitars) and Bartek Nalezinski (Drums), the band was constituted of members from different metal acts, deriving from the southern part of Sweden. Bassplayer Daniel Andersson was recruited and shortly after singer Rikard Larsson from the Thrashers SANZIA (now known as IN BLACK), who is a singer with a vast experience that goes back to Heavy Metal bands from the 80's like MERCY and MAGICA.
Together, the five members of SUPREME MAJESTY set out to play Heavy Metal with influences from among others IRON MAIDEN, EUROPE and DIO. However, the goal was also to mix in influences of 70's rock into this, with ideas from bands like LED ZEPPELIN and BLACK SABBATH. The band wasted no time, but got soon in contact with Loud N' Proud Records which seemed to be a great label to release an upcoming MCD on. The MCD was recorded between 12th to 18th July and mixed 27th to 29th July 1999 at DW Recordings in Hдssleholm, Sweden. The MCD, featuring four tracks, was released during the autumn and has up until now sold over all expectations and also gained attention and massive positive response from both fans, press, and other parts of the music industry. In December 1999 the band decided to part ways with drummer Bartek Nalezinski. He was shortly afterwards replaced by the very skilled drummer Jocke Unger. Soon after the change of drummer, singer Rikard decided to quit the band, to be able to focus 100% on his other band IN BLACK. Due to this fact, SUPREME MAJESTY searched for another vocalist who both could be able to fill the gaping hole after Rikard and to match the vocal qualities of the same man, a task not easy indeed. However, the band found their man soon afterwards in the talented vocalist Joakim Olsson, who prior to joining SUPREME MAJESTY handled the mic in the Glam/Heavy Metal band DEEP QUEST.
In late July 2000, the band entered famous STUDIO FREDMAN in Gothenburg, where killer albums from bands like HAMMERFALL and IN FLAMES have been produced, to record their debut full-length album, "Tales of a Tragic Kingdom". The resulting album was well over any and all expectations that had been set, prior to the recording. However, due to the fact that the label that the album was supposed to be released on went bankrupt, the album stood without a label to back it up. The recording was therefore sent to some different labels throughout Europe and among the ones that were interested was MASSACRE RECORDS, with whom SUPREME MAJESTY signed a deal.
