Superbus

Superbus is a French band that was formed in 2001 around the musical and creative ideas of it's lead singer, Jennifer Ayache. A very talented young 'chantuese', Jennifer plays 3 instruments (drums, piano and guitar) in addition to being the band's very recognizable and energetic voice. The rest of the band consists of: Patrice Focone (backing vocals, guitar), Michel Giovanetti (backing vocals, guitar), François Even (backing vocals, bass) & Guillaume Rouse (drums) who was replaced by Greg Jacks in 2006. Superbus' music falls under the pop-punk/pop-rock genre, but their style has evolved to encapsulate a variety of musical leanings. Jennifer has professed to be very influenced by the musical styles of the 50's and 60's (track #1 of WOW is called "Le Rock à Billy"), as well as bands such as No Doubt, Weezer, Sublime, and Blondie. Lyrically, the music is also varied as the songs are usually a mélange of English and French- and can definitely be appreciated by non-French listeners. Thus far, Superbus has released 3 albums: Aéromusical in 2002, Pop'N'Gum in 2004, and Wow! in 2006. For their last tour promoting the album WOW, the band toured exhaustively, playing solidly from January to the end of August. For the moment at least, the band tours predominantly in France.
