Sullivan

Sullivan formed in the summer of 2002 when friends Zach Harward andBrooks Paschal began writing music with guitars and a drum machine onthe floor in Zach’s room. After the decision to form into a fullyfunctioning band and numerous shows and rotating members later,Sullivan decided to take the next step in the life of a band: touring.

The band released an ep, purchased a van, and recruited PhilChamberlain as their permanent drummer in 2003. Sullivan toured theU.S. for 5 weeks, including a week with Underoath, and two southeastruns in 2004. The band took to the road and have not looked back. "Zachand I started Sullivan three years ago to prove a point. We really docare about the kids," adds Paschal. "It's more than music. I have sat down and talked to dudes for anhour about their lives. That is what it is about for us. I would hatefor these kids to look up to someone and then be disappointed by whatkind of person they are. We are blessed to be doing this, and there isno reason I can't take five minutes to talk to every person in theclub."

The band opened up the new year with the addition of guitarist TysonShipman to complete their sound and propel the band in the directionthey wanted to go. The 4-pieceattracted the attention of Tooth and Nail Records who signed the bandin early 2005. Their debut full-length is slated to be released in Fall of 2005.

Sullivan is set to start recording their full length on May 22 inAtlanta. It will be produced by Matt Goldman (Copeland) and mixedby Mike Watts (Brand New, Hopesfall). Reflecting the band's growth inmusic and as individuals, the album will consist of a more developedsound with more fully realized lyrics and instrumentals. "I think the songsoverall hit harder and are just better than our older material,"describes Chamberlain.

Once the album is finished, Sullivan will be hitting the road again, doing what they love best, sharing their music with people nationwide. "Wework hard to make sure they are enjoying the show as much as we are,”expalins Chamberlain.
