Subhumans

Sorry, this was the only one I could find. I figured it would work as a temporary bio until you found a decent one.

THE LINE UP WAS & IS:

  • DICK (VOCALS)

WHO HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN IN THE MENTAL, (A CHAOTIC BAND WHO PUT OUT ONE EP)

  • TROTSKY (DRUMS)

REPLACED ANDY AT THE AGE OF 15 A YEAR LATER

  • BRUCE (GUITAR)

WHO, ALONG WITH; ANDY ON DRUMS, HAD BEEN IN WARMINSTER-BASED STUPID HUMANS

  • PHIL (BASS)

TOOK OVER THE BASS IN '83 FROM GRANT.

SUBHUMANS - (THE UK ONES, AS OPPOSE TO THE CHAPS FROM VANCOUVER WHO WERE GOING STRONG IN THE EARLY 80'S) - WERE ONE OF THE MORE NOTICEABLE BANDS IN THE ANARCHO-PUNK SCENE IN THE UK FROM 80-85, ALONGSIDE CONFLICT, CRASS, RUDIMENTARY PENI FLUX OF PINK INDIANS, ANTISECT, ETC. ANGERED INTELLIGENT LYRICS AND MUSIC FAR MORE DIVERSE THAN MOST PUNK, THEIR ATTITUDE WAS SELF-SEARCHING AND STRONGLY DIY; THEIR 5LPS, 6 EPS AND NUMEROUS CASSETTES WERE RELEASED ON THEIR OWN BLUURG RECORDS, WHICH ITSELF PUT OUT RECORDS BY OTHER BANDS (EG INSTIGATORS) ON A NO-CONTRACT TRUST BASIS.

THE BAND WERE BASED IN WARMINSTER IN WILTSHIRE (SW ENGLAND) AND PLAYED 262 GIGS AROUND EUROPE, TWO TOURS IN AMERICA; THEIR "FIFTEEN MINUTES" CAME WITH A FRONT COVER AND INTERVIEW IN NOW DEFUNKT UK MUSIC PAPER "SOUNDS" IN JANUARY '83....

DICK JOINED CULTURE SHOCK; BRUCE FORMED SWITCH (NO RELEASES, NOW SPLIT) PHIL AND TROTSKY WERE IN A FEW TRANSIENT BANDS BEFORE MEETING UP WITH DICK AGAIN IN CITIZEN FISH
