Strife

this is the only thing that I've found about them I'm sorry.

"Since the release of their debut album "One Truth" almost three years ago, Strife has been far from inactive. Their most recent exploits include an east coast tour with Sick of it All and west coast dates with bands like AFI, Voodoo Glow Skulls and Incubus. They will be leaving for Australia at the end of February, becoming the first Victory band to tour "down under". And with experiences like touring with Sepultura under their belts, the band has not only gained a much larger audience, but they have opened minds to their positive and socially aware lifestyle. (Not to mention the hardcore in general.)

"In This Defiance" contains the furious in your face sound that has become their signature, layered with emotionally charged and introspective lyrics. With songs about issues ranging from suicide to the downfall of modern society, Strife spread a message of unity farther than separation. That idea runs through every song and every live show. Positivity, unity and open- mindedness are all the trademark goals of Strife's message. Their energy is captured via these recordings, but to really understand Strife, one must see them live. The intensity and energy put forth by every member of the band, not to mention the crowd, is one of the most thrilling hardcore experiences going. Boston's Lollipop magazine describes it as "...Over fifty people rushing the stage...The voices of a couple hundred kids shouting for unity, for change, and the band behind it all somewhere, never missing a note." Speaking of live shows, Strife were also a part of "The California Takeover", two shows at the Whiskey A Go Go in Hollywood, CA and Corona's Showcase Theater with labelmates Earth Crisis and Snapcase. Released in Aug. 1996, it prompted the release of "One Truth - Live" (Sep. ë96), the outstanding look at Strife on tour, directed by Darren Doane.

With "One Truth"lying securely in the Victory archives as one of our best selling titles, this release brings with it a little something extra. With the fanbase and reputation that Strife has, it wasn't too hard to put together and all star cast for "In This Defiance". They've recruited a Cavalera on drums, a Deftone on vocals and a Fear Factory worker on guitar. If this sounds vague, look at the liner notes, listen to the music, and decipher the clues. This band, and this record are an in-your-face mystery that's worth solving."
