Stevie Hoang

Stevie Hoang is a Chinese-British RnB singer / producer signed to Mercury Records and AVEX.

Stevie started his musical career as a producer, working from his parents house. He has been playing the piano since he was young, and often uploads home videos of him performing informal acoustic tracks at home.

In early 2008 Hoang's debut "home-made" self-produced, self-recorded and self-promoted debut album 'This Is Me' brought him to the attention of the Japanese market, where - after repeated trips to Tokyo - he has since gone on to sell over 65,000 albums.

Stevie Hoang was born in Birmingham, England. He migrated to London,England with his parents when he was one years old. He learned piano at the age of eleven and showed his talent with it.

Since Hoang's surname is a Vietnamese name, many of his fans assume that he's automatically of Vietnamese descent; However his family are ethnic Chinese from Vietnam, also known as Hoa, who later moved to England in the 1980s. There have been numerous comments and debate in his YouTube videos from Vietnamese viewers that claim his ethnicity solely based on his last name. Hoang acknowledges this in his interview with the Sunday Times. Stevie and his sister have both stated that they're of Chinese descent.

Stevie Hoang supported N-Dubz and Tinchy Stryder on their 2009 'Uncle B' tour.
