Creative minds have always had the power to inspire & change the way we look at life. So, it is no wonder that when four creative minds join forces as one, the result is an astounding display of visionary excellence. Originated in 1994 from the Eastern Pennsylvania area, four individuals have had several years to share their ideas & infuse their visions into a single evolutionary body of artistic genius that is known as Sinch.
"I'm inspired by people who've overcome great obstacles just so they can express themselves artistically. People who push themselves to expand their imagination regardless of what risks are involved", claims multi-talented guitarist Tony Lannutti. That risk began in high school as a response to the industry’s lack of original music and an inner desire to create something never before seen. Now, several years, hundreds of shows, one demo, two full-lengths, an EP, countless amounts of blood & sweat, and a record deal later, the band Sinch are well on their way towards sharing their creations with the rest of the world. "Other people's music is my biggest inspiration," say drummer Dan, "and I just want to create something that affects other people in the same way that the music I listen to affects me."
Sinch’s music is a true representation of the band fueled by creativity and limitless visions. According to Dan, "We don't consciously try to be a part of any scene or any certain kind of sound…There's really no limits to what we can do." Take a listen to any of Sinch’s albums from their first S/T demo or their latest Project: Bluebird EP to their two full-length albums, The Strychnine and Diatribe, and you will be able to hear the difference. "Each one of our songs is special & unique," cites Dan, "all of our songs have a different sound and different things going on. "Even we don't really know what the next song we write is gonna sound like."
So, Sinch may possess the sound & the skill, but do they possess the energy & presence to captivate & entertain audiences? The answer is a definite yes…just ask any number of fans who witnessed the band alongside the likes of Korn, Rob Zombie, Linkin Park, Chevelle, Liquid Gang, Full Devil Jacket, Tidewater Grain and Tapping the Vein. Combine Sinch’s musical ingenuity with their overpowering stage presence and it is no wonder that the band was picked up by Roadrunner Records.
Although Sinch may be one of Roadrunner Records newest signings, they are a band that hardly fits in Roadrunner’s current mold of "nu-metal". Roadrunner described the band as "somewhere in between At the Drive In, Cave In, and Tool" while Dan called them "intense, emotional rock music." Yet neither is a true description of music that should only include the words, "original", "diverse", "dark" and "special". And later in the year listeners everywhere will be able to experience Sinch for themselves as the band continues work on their upcoming new album with producers Walter Schreifels (former Quicksand and now current Rival Schools bandmate) and Malcolm Springer (Liquid Gang, Full Devil Jacket, Spike 1000) . "We're going in with open minds and you can expect that it will be the best possible album that we can make at this point in our lives." In the meantime, capture a glimpse of Sinch’s music on the Ginger Snaps Soundtrack, which is slated for a spring release and also features the sounds of Soulfly, Glas sjaw, Fear Factory, Machine Head, and Professional Murder Music.
