Silkk The Shocker

Silkk the Shocker is the younger brother of Master P (born Percy Miller), the million-selling gangsta rapper who owns No Limit Records. Silkk, who grew up on the tough streets of New Orleans, began his recording career in the mid-'90s with guest appearances on albums by West Coast Bad Boys, Down South Hustlers, and other No Limit artists. In 1995 Silkk achieved greater fame as one-third of the gangsta rap trio TRU (which also featured Master P and his brother C-Murder), whose 1995 debut album, True, sold more than 200,000 copies.

The following year he released his debut album, The Shocker, a hardcore gangsta rap album in the West Coast tradition, replete with misogynist, violent lyrics and blatant drug references. After recording another record with TRU -- 1997's Tru 2 Da Game -- Silkk returned as Silkk the Shocker with 1998's Charge It 2 Da Game, a stronger gangsta rap effort which featured guest appearances by Snoop Dogg, Mia X, MJG, Mystikal, Ice Cube and Eightball.
