Sieges Even

A standout progressive thrash band of the late eighties and nineties, Sieges Even's first two albums prompted several comparisons to Watchtower, to the point that Watchtower themselves were reportedly not too happy at the similarity. The comparisons were indeed apt, as Life Cycle in particular did sound very much like early Watchtower. But by the time of A Sense Of Change the band had moved on and broadened its sound, here sounding a bit like more recent Rush. With a new guitarist and a new vocalist, Sophisticated continued the direction shift, sounding slightly less progressive than their earlier efforts (though the musicianship level remains high) and has a slightly more commercial sound.
