Seance was one of the nearly forgotten entries in the early Swedish death metal camp because their first album more resembled American metal like Malevolent Creation than it did the relatively less percussive and more melodic output coming from the far north at that time. With their second work, "Saltrubbed Eyes," Seance however left no doubt as to their aptitude in merging both styles and they remain a well-sought favorite of the underground to this day, partially because they called it a day after two great albums before adulteration could ruin the reputation of a once-formidable band.
