Scythe was born in 1994.
The result of the past days:
We did a lot of demos since 1994 which were very important for our musical development in general. The stuff was recorded on analog material (tapes etc.) so the sound was very bad.
We just wanted it to be recorded for ourselves. In those days we haven´t had any plans to do something for "the public".
However things changed with the years of grief.......
The 1st serious Scythe release was the 1998/99 CD "Last Eclipse". Every member of the band had paid their dues in other bands during the 90´s. Because of this musical experience it was the right time to gather again and record an album. "Last Eclipse" contains re-arranged old songs from the first period as well as new ones. The whole album was arranged and recorded with our new drummer Norman.
In 2000 we started and finished work on our 2nd album "Silent is the future". There´s both very straight Death Metal on it but also songs which might sound non-typical to ears of Oldschool Death Metal fellows. Live dates were done with a session bass player ´cause the ways of Scythe and their former bass player Olli went apart in 2000. He is now on stage with his band Sufferage from Hamburg.
In November 2001 we went back to Hamburg to record "On my way home". Fortunately we had enough time to record a serious studio album.
In June 2002 the remastered version was released officially through our label Witches Brew.
April 2003: The recording of the new album "Poetry Of Illusions" was very professional and successful. We went to Osterode/Harz (D) to enter Metalsound Studio. "Poetry" is produced by Dark at dawn´s Torsten Sauerbrey. Now time has come to celebrate Scythe´s 10th anniverssary with a new release. "The process of rotting" will be released in July 2004. The CD contains re-recorded DEMO songs from the past.
