American singer and songwriter Ryan Bingham was born on March 31, 1981, in Hobbs, New Mexico. He grew up in a fractured family that moved around often.
Ryan is a former competitive bull rider. He has lived a hard life, leaving home early, traveling and making money with rodeo gigs. It was during this trips that he began entertaining friends with the guitar that he learned at the age of 17 from a mariachi neighbor.
Ryan Bingham is a country singer with a whisky voice. He is only in his twenties, but he sounds as if he is at least twice as old. Bingham's songs are raw and honest, and reflect his experiences and the wisdom he has gained from his bordertown upbringing and years on the Southwestern rodeo circuit.
He made his first album Dead Horses in 2006. After its success, he made his major label debut with Mescalito in 2007, which received mainly positive reviews.
