Roper was started in 1985 in a small Albanian village. The music could be described as retro folk chant, but a small following began. Communisim was in full swing so it was hard to get big shows, but the band went on. Three albums were released on a Ukranian imprint, but are out of print and hard to find. When the wall fell, and rock music made it's way to the members of Roper, there lives were changed. They made a promise right then and there that they would raise enough money and move to America to play this "ROCK" music. So they had bakesales and sold there oboes and rare collections of hand bells. Soon they were in America, and the rest is history...
