Rihanna performs Cockiness remix with A$AP Rocky at the VMAsNominated in multiple categories and the proud winner of Video of the Year, Rihanna heated up the stage at the Staples Center in Los Angeles when kicking off 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. Beating up the likes of Katy Perry, Drake, Gotye and M.I.A. in the category, Riri was seen coming out of a pyramid-like structure, as she was clad in a red dress and sitting on a golden throne with a group of dancers surrounding her.

The Barbadian beauty performed her latest single "Cockiness" and danced some sexy routines, including groping her own body, before A$AP Rocky joined her on stage to deliver a pretty rousing show. She later got an assist from Calvin Harris for "We Found Love". The R&B singer made the crowd scream even louder when she stood in the midst of the audience.

The same night, Riri got outnumber by the boyband One Direction, which successfully grabbed three awards, including Best Share-Worthy Video and Best Pop Video all for their song "What Makes You Beautiful". They also snatched the Best New Artist award, defeating Carly Rae Jepsen, Fun., The Wanted and Frank Ocean.
