Quiero Club

Quiero Club (Spanish for "I want club") is an experimental pop indie band from Monterrey, Mexico. They are part of Happy-fi collective and released their debut album in late 2006. Their music combines several elements from different genres like rock, pop and electronic music.

Boscop, Priscila, Gustavo, Marcela, & Fara, are all part of Monterrey's music/art collective/gang/tribe/record label/party throwers "Happy-fi". Everyone at Happy-fi plays with everyone else at Happy-fi at some point. “One of those days, in one of those points, we five found ourselves really happy and excited with what we were doing and decided to go pro.”

Winter 2006, after lots of 40oz. bottles, lots of dancing, whiskey, second hand clothing, a bit of nostalgia for raves, and practically more gigs than rehearsals all around Mexico, Quiero Club’s self produced debut album WOF came out. Four singles with four videos were released: No Coke, Backstage Drama, Let the Music, & Latin America. On March 2008 "WOF" was released in Japan via Art Union Co. with a remix of "let da music" by Japan's 80kids as a Bonus track. Some of WOF's tracks became part of different compilations, others became part of various movie soundtracks, others were remixed by dance floor connoisseurs; after all this they say, “it's still the party we achieve with the people that come to our shows that keeps us going.”

After 4 years of doing their thing on a huge plethora of scenarios, from homemade backyard gigs to huge international festivals like Vive Latino Mexico (3 times) and Rock al Parque Colombia; Quiero Club became a bit more self-conscious and entered the studio to start working on new songs.

Spring 2008, the song "Showtime" is released with its video, this is the first single off of their 12 track second album called "Nueva America". Nueva America was released on November 2008; a bit more psychedelic, a bit more pop, a bit more dance, a bit more experimental. On this album they had the honor to collaborate with various artists they admire greatly. Jason Robert worked with them on the second single called "The Flow"; and for their third single they did a lovely song called "Minutos de Aire" with Jorge Gonzalez of Los Prisioneros from Chile. “It's been a sweet joyful ride, we all love what we do. We are currently seriously considering future geography, future politics, and sailing the World”…...-
