Puolikuu started in 1988, first singing in English, and in 1989 changing to Finnish. They come from Helsinki, Finland. First outing was single Hämärään huoneeseen the same year.
The 1st major hit was Makeaa myrkkyä, followed by Viimeiset viisi kilometriä, Nyt loppuu todellisuus and Älä ole hellä, all in 1992. Ota minut nyt was issued in 1994.
Puolikuu has made 10 albums so far, last being “Seis Maailma!”, released in 2007. Band also has a side project Pospisil. Their first album “Acapulco” was released in 2008. Pospisil sing in English and takes its name from legendary Czechoslovakian hockey-player Frantisek Pospisil.
Puolikuu has been going through many personnel changes. Current line-up is to tour Finland spring-summer 2010. Both Puolikuu and Pospisil are making new material, some of which can be heard on MySpace.
The 11th Puolikuu album “Huuda Hiljaa” will be out in March/April 2010.
