This USA power trio were formed in 1994 by Zakk Wylde (b. Jersey City, New Jersey, USA; guitar/vocals), James Lomenzo (bass/vocals) and Brian Tichy (drums). Wylde had risen to fame as Ozzy Osbourne's guitarist, while Lomenzo had played with the commercially successful heavy metal outfit White Lion. The trio's self-titled album garnered critical plaudits for its traditional virtues, although it steered closer to the southern boogie of Lynyrd Skynyrd than the doom laden hard rock sound of Black Sabbath. Lomenzo left after the band's 1994 tour, but Wylde subsequently shelved Pride And Glory to concentrate on other projects. He teamed up with Lomenzo again on his 1996 solo outing, Book Of Shadows. The original line-up re-formed for a one-off show at the Whiskey in Hollywood, California, in January 1998.
