Play N Skillz

Play-N-Skillz, a rap duo with the two brothers, Oscar "Skillz" Salinas and Juan "Play" Salinas. They are from Irving, Texas, in the Dallas, Texas area.

Known best for working with Swishahouse artists and also Three Six Mafia, Lil' Flip, Chamillionaire, Gemini, 50 Cent, Pitbull, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Blast, Adina Howard, Bun B of UGK, Young Chris, Young Noble, Phar East, Petey Pablo, Lil Jon, Mannie Fresh, Paul Wall, Big Tuck, Frankie J, Akon, and others. Growing up in a South American family, Play-N-Skillz lived in a black neighborhood in Irving, Texas. Their most successful single produced so far is Ridin' by Chamillionaire.

Play-N-Skillz started DJing and getting known in Dallas clubs. Having created a makeshift recording studio in their mother's two-bedroom apartment, Play gave up his college plans and he and his brother decided to rent a space where they could build a professional studio and would soon start their company, "Prime Time Productions". Prime Time Productions originated from when they were in highschool. It was a failed attempt at starting a rap group. Play-N-Skillz released three albums prior to Universal Records giving them a major deal. These were "The Best of Lil Flip and Play N Skillz", "From Texas To Da World Vol.I", and "The Album Before the Album".

The first track in Chamillionaire's "Mixtape Messiah 2": Guess Whos Back Was also produced by them.

Recently, they finished their remixing of Hilary Duff's "With Love". This also featured a guest apperance by Slim Thug. They are currently working with Big tuck and Tum-tum who are also from Dallas and are from DSR based in Dallas. Play-N-Skillz stated that they are also working with Slim Thug on his upcoming cd.

R&B-crooner Lloyd has done a cover of their track "Freaks", which was a complete hit. His version is called "One for Me". It's going to be on his soon to be released album "Street Love".

It's rumored that Mariah Carey is going to write another version of "Freaks", and get Bone Thugs-N-Harmony to feature on it. This will be for her next album which is due out in Autumn 2007.
