History At 17 appeared in the now defunct teen variety show That's Entertainment. He had bit roles here and there, playing a victim in slasher films like the Vizconde Massacre II. He later got a role in a kiddie show ATBP. He joined a series called Sa Sandaling Kailangan Mo Ako (When You Need Me), playing the menacing playboy villain --Raffy in the soap. Later, he got a breakthrough role in Lagarista directed by Mel Chonglo which got him international acclaim in Toronto and New York. He was paired up with Judy Ann Santos in Kahit Isang Saglit. They later did other hit soaps, Esperanza and Sa Puso Ko Iingatan Ka. He also starred with her in movies: Bakit di Totohanin and Til There Was You. They teamed up once again in 2006 in the movie Don't Give Up On Us, in which he performed the title theme of that movie. In 2001 he starred in a Sprite campaign. The premise? When a schoolgirl played by then unknown comedienne, Toni Gonzaga, could not help but scream "I love you, Piolo!!!!" at the mere sight of him. In 2002, he appeared with Philippine's Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos, veteran actor Christopher de Leon, and co-Hunks Carlos Agassi in Dekada '70, a film based on Lualhati Bautista's novel of the same title about Amada Bartole and her family's struggle during the Marcos regime in the Philippines. Pascual received numerous awards for his portrail of an activist. In the year 2003, Pascual released his first album, My Gift, and had a series of concert of the same name. By 2004, he appeared in Star Cinema's Milan with actress, Claudine Barretto. He also played a modern day Robin Hood named Oslec in TV Series Mangarap Ka. He also performed Closer You and I, the theme song to the Tagalised Korean TV series Princess Lulu. He has a son, Inigo. Piolo is a Born-Again Christian, ever since 2003 when he converted. He's a member of a fellowship that helps educate the youth, a member of the Red Cross and has led Knowledge Channel runs to help out public schools.
