Pettalom

Almost in the end of 1995, in the city of Tatuí, Marcos Riva in the vocal, Alan de Agustinis and Fernando Campos in the guitars, Erick André on the bass, decides to make a band and they baptize it with the name of Angels of Disease, counting then with the participation of the Spider in the drums.

In that time the sound of the band was traditional heavy metal with influences of the years 80 and 90, time of the appearance and consolidation of great icons of the metal (they issued one demo entitled Portals of Mist, that according to the magazine Rock Brigade nº 128, "THE sound of the band synthesizes the roads of the heavy well in its more varied slopes and times").

For turn of that period the Spider leaves the position, and who assumes the control of the drum sticks is André Campos, that is with the band until the current days.

Among the years of 1997/98, the quintet makes the decision of reformulating the sound proposal that they came doing, increasing to the style forts influences of the heavy Gothic metal of the nineties, such like Type O Negative, Paradise Lost, Theatre of Tragedy, being molded better to the style of voice of Marcos Riva. All that whole change done by the band, turned to essencial the use of keyboards, and vocal feminine.

But Angels of Disease was not exactly a name for the style that they has just adopted, so they change its name to Pettalom.

Now they practiced a sound that mixed the tradicional heavy metal with the Gothic heavy of the nineties.

In 1998 they issue the demo tape "The Wine of the night... And the Promises of the Sun " contends the music Feelings Buried Alive and Celibate, with special participations of Celso Veagnoli (keyboards) and Elaine Oliveri (vocal feminine).

The demo was a true success, having obtained excellent recognition of of its work in the specialized press (Rock Brigade nº 152; Planet Metal nº 03; Metal Head nº 30 and many Zines), showing the one that the band was capable to do. To have an idea of the excellent acceptance of the demo, the magazine Rock Brigade considered it as " one of the most inspired Brazilian's demo for a long time ".

Alias, that demo was of extreme importance, as I said they are just two music but that did with Pettalom got to be recognized as a promise in the national metallic scenery. Then of that recognition, finally they get a contract to record its first disk.

In 2000 is issued "The Wine of the Night ", what was a promise, now becomes one of the best disks of premiere of a Brazilian band. Counting now on Kátia Santana (soprano), the band surprises for the originality (what nowadays is a rare thing).

Everything that you think is there: weigh, melody, wonderful arrangements, cooks perfect, guitars very well worked, such beautiful soils that get to ruffle. The one that more gets attention in that disk is the vocal ones that are completed in a perfect way.

In the same year Bruno Fischer Dimarch (keyboard), enters in Pettalom
