One Voice was organized in 2003, and immediately audiences responded overwhelmingly to their rich vocal blend and ability to effectively communicate the message of the Gospel in song. Since the trio’s formation, they have established a firm place at the top of the Christian music ladder in the southern Illinois area.
One Voice has been featured on numerous video tapings in the local area as well as worldwide. Viewers in the southern Illinois area see One Voice on local television via TCT and worldwide on such broadcasts on Three Angels Broadcasting Network.
Over the years, One Voice has been blessed as God has opened the door for them to travel to more areas across the mid-west. In 2006, they had the opportunity to travel to California to minister with the Heritage Singers. God has opened the door for them to travel on a five state tour of the southeast. Visit their calendar page for specific dates and times. The are currently working on their new recording and are anxious to for it's release later this year.
The vocals quality and rich harmony that One Voice has become noted for is a result of the blending of three unique and versatile vocalists.
Bryan Cowling sings lead for One Voice and resides in Norris City, IL. with his wife Jayme and their children, Chayce and Ashtyn. Bryan was privileged to be raised in a Christian home and accepted Jesus as his Savior as a young boy. Bryan began singing in his local church and has sung throughout the Tri-State area with gospel groups such as New Beginning and Prairie State Quartet. Bryan has also recorded two solo projects as part of a solo ministry.
Deon Baker sings baritone and makes his home in Crab Orchard, IL with his wife Angie. Deon attributes his walk with Christ to his parents who took him to church even when he didn't want to go. God gave Deon the desire to sing gospel music after hearing the groups that would come and sing at his church growing up. Over the years, Deon has had the opportunity to sing and play bass guitar with such groups as The Gospel Tones, Family Heirs Quartet, and Fortress Quartet. "I thank God for allowing me to share His message through song, not only to those who don't know Jesus, but to those within the church who might be struggling, hurting, and discouraged."
Matt Throgmorton sings tenor and is from Marion, IL. Matt was privileged to have been brought up in a Christian home and was called into full time ministry at the age of 20. He moved to Florida to sing with a group called the Florida Melody Boys out of Monticello, Florida where in 1997 they won the Singing News Horizon Group of the Year award. Not long after moving to Florida, Matt met his wife Cindy and they now have two daughters, Bethany and Brylee. Matt has recently finished his first-ever solo project and is excited about the opportunity to minister through the talent that God has given him. You can listen to a sample Matt's new CD at his website, www.MattsMinistry.com.
Each year, these three gentlemen present the gospel in a way that has endeared them to audiences with diversified musical tastes. Their diversity has gained them the respect of fans and industry members alike. "There are many different styles of music just as there are many different styles of people," Matt explains. "What touches my heart and ministers to me may not do the same for someone else. We try to offer a diverse selection of music to a diverse crowd, each song delivering a message. Every song will not minister to every person in the same way, but we feel that if we keep true to the message of Jesus Christ and let Him work through us, we can not fail. We see people every night that would never step into a church to hear a sermon, but are there hearing the word of God through song. To have just one person come to know Jesus through our ministry makes everything we do worth it all."
