Olivia Ruiz (real name Olivia Blanc) was born on January 1, 1980 in Marseillette, France. She grew up in Carcassonne. Daughter of singer Didier Blanc, she took dancing lessons & was the singer of a rock band she founded with her friends. The band got success but Olivia really wanted to be a singer. She joined her father on stage to sing classical French songs. In 2001, she joined the casting for the first season of Star Academy. She didn't win but she released her first album J'Aime Pas L'Amour in 2003. Far from real-TV singers, Olivia got her own style between rock & French music. The young girl got successful on stage & was nominated for "Scene Revelation" at the Victoires De La Musique. Olivia came back in 2005 with her second album, better than the first one, La Femme Chocolat.
