Obtest

End of the year, 1992 - Obtest is formed by two men, Sadlave and Baalberith.

Summer, 1993 - Black metal storm reaches the wastes of Lithuanian lands; Obtest horde joins it because of its antichristian and warlike ideas.

Summer, 1994 - aafter a year in the deep underground, Obtest records the first rehearsal tape featuring three tracks: Myth Of the Poor Souls, Oldness Coming, and My Beloved Land. Drums recorded by Insmuth, the third member.

Sept. 3, 1994 - Obtest performs a gig; it is the first black metal band's live in Lithuania.

April 19, 1995 - the first studio demo is recorded. Demo contains three tracks: Riding through the Remembrances, Oldness coming, and Blestanciu Žvaigždžiu Tylejimas (Silence of the Parting Stars).

Dec. 22, 1995 - The second studio demo "Prieš audra" (Before the Tempest) is released by "Vetco Menesio Vaizbuva" label as its first release. Drums recorded by Bestial. Demo contains five tracks: Ižanga (Intro), Myth of the Poor Souls, Burning Light is Haunting...Me, Prieš audra (Before the Tempest), and Blestanciu Žvaigždžiu Tylejimas (Silence of the Parting Stars).

April 23, 1997 - Thousand years ago the first christian missionary was killed in a Baltic land - Prussia. After thousand years Obtest releases the first full-length MC album "TUKSTANTMETIS" (Millenium) on a V.M.V. label. This album has started a new stage. Several thousand years of fighting the Christians as well as the surviving heathen traditions have inspired Obtest to pay honour to the ancestors whose spirit and blood are still seething in us. Album contains eight tracks: Karo Dvasia (War Spirit), Iš nualinto krašto (From the Devastated Land), Vilkalokiai, Tolstant Krantams (As the Shores are Receding), 997, Menulio Karunos Kautynes (The Mooncrown Battle), Sakme Apie Ugnine Širdi (Saga of the Fiery Heart), and Amžiams (For Ages). The album has been available only in the Baltic lands.

August, 1998 - Miriquidi productions from Germany releases a 7 "EP ''9 9 7" featuring three tracks: Karo Dvasia (War Spirit), 997, and Tolstant Krantams (As the Shores are Receding).

Sept. 18, 1998 - Obtest makes a presentation of the EP on the "Baltic Thunder" festival with Tharaphita, SkyForger, Dissimulation, Zpoan Vtenz, and Poccolus, in Vilnius.

December, 1999 - "TUKSTANTMETIS" (Millenium) is finally released as a CD by German Wolf Music, with the assistance of Miriquidi productions. Tracks are the same as in the MC version.

March 19, 2000 - Obtest records a new song Prisiek (Swear) for the "Dark Fire Dancing IV" compilation CD.

August, 2000 - Obtest records a 4-song promo tape, and continues to work on recording the new album.

Sept. 22 – Oct. 2, 2000 - Obtest makes the first tour in Germany as a support band for German EMINENZ. The band plays in Berlin, Hamburg, Bitterfeld, Gorlitz, Greifswald and Annaberg. Obtest plays gigs with a new bass player.

October, 2001 - P R I S I E K 7” picture EP is released by Miriquidi Prod. (Germany).

Dec. __ , 2001 - the second full-length album Auka seniems dievams (Offering to the Ancient Gods) is released on Ledo Takas Records (Lithuania) in the CD format and as a limited edition LP.
