NYDVIND was created by Hingard in November 2000.
Hingard was joined by Stig (drums) and NYDVIND started under this duo-form. Then Feyd (guitar) joined the band but stayed only a few weeks.
In mid 2001, Hingard found a new guitar player in the name of Hollgarh. Nesh (bass) finally completed the band line-up during the Fall 2001.
In March 2002, Hollgarh was replaced by Kraban.
NYDVIND signed with Sacral Productions and the debut album "Eternal Winter Domain" was released in September 2003.
In June 2004, Stig left NYDVIND.
The band is now searching for a new drummer, and the release of the new album "Sworn to the Elder" is scheduled for December 2004.
