Found in 1997, german metalheads NINNGHIZHIDDA started with the recording of "The Horned Serpent", a 6 track demo which was the basis for the 98' album "Blasphemy", released through Invasion Records/RTD. Provided with great reviews worldwide, "Blasphemy" spread the bands name as an ambicious and blasting new act, combining the trademarks of metal so far with classical arrangements to a soundtrack - like listening experience. Due to several line up changes in the rythm section (e.g.Ventor on drums), touring became impossible, so the second album was prepared. After the vanishing of Invasion Rec., the band entered the studio to produce an album excerpt, the 3 tracker "Mistress Of The Night". The recording made it's way through the metal press, incl.having the song "Rape (The Virgin Mary)" featured on Rock Hard's Unerhört CD 7, and finally NINNGHIZHIDDA signed with the dutch metal experts of DISPLEASED RECORDS. The first release now enters your brain as "DEMIGOD", the second complete NINNGHIZHIDDA - album. Produced by Sascha Risseler, the band`s former keyboarder, the album features 11 metal-anthems showing the bands skills and sound developed to new heights: ripping double guitars and pounding drums surrounded by orchestral elements and polyphonic vocal arrangements, the soundtrack for the journey into your depths.
"Blasphemy" was a good start, but with "Demigod", the band now manages to create a real milestone in the black/dark-metal genre... A strong album, that should fill each fan of dramatically arranged black/dark-metal, horrorsoundtrack-like compositions with enthusiasm. ROCK HARD 07 / 2002 8/10 points
