Nick Cannon

A drum, a synthesizer and "a lot of trial and failure," was all young Nick Cannon needed to cut his songwriting teeth and record his very first harmonies on an old skool boom box. And it wasn't long before this ambitious new talent took to the stage to perform his music along with some stand-up routines he'd written. He later founded the San Diego-based rap duo Da Bom Squad, whose hip-hop rhythms rocked such venues as Billboard Live and opened for musical performers Will Smith, Montell Jordan and LFO. And while his talents have since taken him to many amazing places (most notably as host of his very own "The Nick Cannon Show" on Nickelodeon) Nick has always made sure his music was a part of the act.

These days, Nick Cannon is all music, preparing for the release of his solo debut album. He's been in the studio recording tracks with top notch producers (the Neptunes, Trackmasters and L.E.S.) and collaborating with major music stars like R Kelly, B2K, Petey Pablo, 3LW and Biz Markie. He recently guest hosted MTV’s TRL and joined Lil' Romeo and 3LW on the remake of DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince's 80’s classic "Parent’s Just Don’t Understand" (featured on the "Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius" soundtrack). He can also be heard on the soundtrack for Drumline, the movie in which Nick also made his feature film debut. As Drumline's leading man, Nick plays a talented drummer from Harlem who receives a full scholarship to a college in Atlanta. Nick stars opposite Orlando Jones in the film.
