Since their "Home Again" reunion in 1996, the members of New Edition have been relatively quiet as far as new albums have been concerned. A few N.E. compilations have been released such as: Solo Hits, All the #1's, Lost In Love.
The members have been keeping busy during this "off" time with other side projects. Bobby Brown has been involved in a few films and has reportedly gone back to the studio to work on another solo album. Ralph Tresvant has also reportedly returned to the studio to work on a new album. He had recorded a few songs that were circulated on the internet. Ralph just recently took a break from his play. Ronnie Devoe also had recorded a few tracks that never made it past the internet. Ricky Bell recorded his first solo album in 2000 titled Ricardo Campana. Although his album went relatively unnoticed, he did appear on Soul Train. Johnny Gill recently had another greatest hits album released. He has been busy with his play, and was also rumored to have began work on another LSG album. BBD released an album in December 2001, but lacked any promotions. Their only released single "Da Hot S***" did not get much air play, and the album sales reflected that. Ralph guest appeared on the song "In My Crib". MCA re
leased a BBD Greatest Hits in 2000 and will release a master's collection on May 21st.
New Edition is on tour this summer for the first time since their 'Home Again' Tour. Bobby Brown will not be performing with the group this summer, and it remains to be seen whether or not he will be a part of their album/tour next year.
New Edition is currently preparing for their 2003 reunion which will mark their 20th year anniversary. As of now, they will be performing for one show on June 29 at Universal Studios in California. Recent interviews with Ricky Bell have indicated that there will be a movie, book, DVD, and new album to commemorate the group.
