At the start of the year 1994 the new heavy-speed metal band called OTTER (Viper in German) was established . Original members are Libor Krivak and Tomas Suchacek who know each other from playing together in one of many student´s bands in Brno (City in the Czech Republic, former Czechoslovakia). They prefer to play more melodic kind of the genre like the bands RUNNING WILD, GAMMA RAY or HELLOWEEN. After two years of neverending work in rehreasal room Pavel Svejda joined the band. After a few changes of former guitarists he was the one who stayed with the band for next three years. In this period OTTER prefer the fusion of prog and speed metal and in 1996 changed the name for NEMESIS. In 1998 Petr Vyslouzil joined the band as the bass guitar player and Karel Palat helped the band as the leadsinger during the band´s first live show. After the show Karel decided to stay with NEMESIS as a full member. Then the era of two year´s touring across the rock clubs in Brno and neighbourhoods follows. The band performed both cover songs as well as their own material.
The band recored its first three-songs´ demotape on february 1999. This recording was done mostly by the co-operative way due to the lack of the money for the real studio. Next the band begin to work on the first promo-CD in september 1999 in Live and Loud studio in Prague. Two song (each 9 minutes long) and intro has been recorded after nearly a week´s work.
Personal changes touched NEMESIS in the fall of the year 1999 when Pavel quit NEMESIS and both Petr and Karel were departured from the band. The new promo CD has been prepared between january and august 2000. The CD was recorded in september and it is called "Kingdom of Lion". There is a evident moving in NEMESIS style towards to the northern bands (STRATOVARIUS) with the touch of the symphonic metal. The drum tracks were recorded by Tomas again in Live and Loud studio at Prague. Guitar and keyboards parts were recorded by Libor in his home studio. Vocals were done by highly experienced singer Vilem Majtner who is still part of the band.
At a half of a 2001 NEMESIS starts to work on new material for the first CD "Goddess of Revenge". There are 10 songs on the CD and these were recorded at Audio Line studio, Studio "U Ivana" and in the home studio. A soon as the record is finished the band accepted the offer from italian label Underground Symphony . . . . .
