Much the Same is an aggressive, melodic punk rock band from the south side of Chicago. Since 1999 this group has been working hard to create catchy yet powerful music, while steadily growing in popularity through shameless self-promotion and tons of hard work. The band is driven not only by a dream of spending their lives doing what they love, but also by a rare drive for perfection that makes each song stand on its own.
This nationally touring band receives a warm and honest welcome in every city it plays, building its fanbase quickly with every intense performance. Their catchy hooks, in-your-face vocals, aggressive attitude, natural excitement, and energetic stage presence makes for an experience that has been described as "balls out fun!" Newcomers immidiately note that the members aren't just doing their job on stage, they genuinely enjoy it and have a good time without hindering the serious tone of the music. Much The Same brings forth a blend of oldschool power and newschool technique to create a sound that can be enjoyed by punk fans of every kind; you'll leave the circle pit with their melodies stuck firmly in your head.
After over 3 years of writing, touring, opening for some of the guys' favorite bands (Thrice, Belvedere, Dogwood, Slick Shoes), and multiple appearances at Warped Tour, Cornerstone, Chicago's Metro and Fireside Bowl, Anti-Flag took notice of Much The Same and soon invited them onto their label, A-F Records. Their debut LP, "Quitters Never Win" (Spring 2003) is a fresh taste of what melodic punk rock can be.
