MITHOTYN started their crusade under the banner of Viking Metal in Winter 92/92. During the summer of 93 Schutz and Weinerhall were joined by Karsten and Karl. Right after the recording of "Behold The Shields Of Gold" demo; in May '94, a fifth member (Helene) was recruited.
Two Months later a promo called "Meadow Of Silence" was recorded, but his quintet only lasted until November 1994. Soon after he recordings Schutz was replaced ny Rickard. "Nidhogg"; their third demo was recorded Aril 1995 and was the last recording for Helene, who left because of musical differences. This time some offers from record companies arrived, but since none of the offers was exciting enough, the band decided to create a new demo called "{Promo 96") More deal offers came in, until the arrival of Invasion's contract hi the hands of the four guardians of MITHOTYN.
The First CD "In The Sign Of The Ravens" released in April 1997 contained both old and new MITHOTYN songs. MIHOTYN's name became a mark for True Viking Metal. During '97 the band composed new material and in November they marched into Los Angered Studios to record their second masterpiece "King Of The Distant Forest" with he assistance of all-time KING DIAMOND guitarist Andy LaRoque.
The band is currently preparing to unleash their third ROYAL VIKING METAL OPUS "Gathered Around The Oaken Table".
