Mirror Of Deception

Chronology 1990:

  • Michael Siffermann and Jochen Fopp (both guitar) start to work on their first songs.

1991:

  • Ingo Häderle joins as a drummer.

1992:

  • Markus Baumhauer (vocals) and Rainer Hampel (bass) complete the first line-up.
  • First concert at the end of the year.

1993:

  • Recording and release of the first, selftitled demo.

1994:

  • "Words Unspoken", the second demo gets recorded and shifts 600 copies.

1995:

  • Ingo Häderle and Rainer Hampel leave the band and get replaced by Klaus Schmidt (bass) and Gunnar Drescher (drums). Hampel moves on to End of Green.
  • Mini-tour with Astral Rising.

1996:

  • Recording of the third demo, "Veil of Lead".
  • First serious label interest.

1997:

  • While recording another promo tape, the band gets in touch with Sub Zero Records.
  • The "Veil of Lead" mini-CD is issued in April on Sub Zero Records. The CD has just the title and pone song ("Emptiness") in common with the previous demo.
  • Recording of a further promo tape.
  • By the end of the year the recordings for the "Mirrorsoil" cd take off. It`s planned to be released on Sub Zero Records.

1998:

  • The "Mirrorsoil" recordings continue with longer interruptions.
  • Mini tour with Jack Frost.

1999:

  • Jochen leaves the band for a couple of months.
  • "Mirrorsoil" gets finished in August.

2000:

  • Search for a new label, as Sub Zero Records has ceased in the meantime.
  • In August, 3 new Songs plus the Saint Vitus cover "One Mind" are recorded.
  • On the eve of the 10th anniversary party the "Mirrorsoil" CD arrives from the pressing plant. The anniversary festivities turn into a release party.

2001:

  • January: "Mirrorsoil" gets released on the English label The Miskatonic Foundation.
  • February: Some shows in England with Warning and Solstice.
  • Mirror of Deception contribute songs to a number of compilation cds.
  • October/ November: Doom`s Diner tour throughout Germany with End of Green.

2002:

  • More contributions to various international compilations follow.
  • July: Singer Markus Baumhauer announces to leave MOD as he hasn`t enough time for the band anymore. He agrees to play the Summer Breeze festival and another final show with the band.
  • August: Mirror of Deception play on Germanys Summer Breeze Open Air, one of Europes biggest Metal festivals.
  • December: the band enters the studio to record a new mini-CD with Michael as the single vocalist.

2003:

  • January: Final show with former singer Markus.
  • The new mini-CD, entitled "Conversion" gets released on The Miskatonic Foundation label.
  • Mirror of Deception play at the Doom Shall Rise festival.
  • Following the festival they tour Germany and Belgium together with Finland`s Reverend Bizarre and US Doom legend Revelation.
  • July: Parting ways with Klaus Schmidt (bass) and Gunnar Drescher (drums) due to lack of time.
  • September: Andreas Taller (bass) and Jochen Müller (drums, vocals) are the new members.
  • First gig with the new line-up at Dutch Doom Day II in Rotterdam.
