Manafest

4000 independent record sales. Tour dates across North America. Endorsed by One Life Clothing, Circa Footwear and sponsored by World Vision. And now a Tooth & Nail record deal. All in the last fourteen months. But every story has a beginning…this is Manafest's.

There are few who are blessed with Manafest's natural ability to spit lyrics effortlessly. Fewer still whose lyrics carry true, life-changing meaning with its listeners. But being a crafty wordsmith can only get you so far and the fastest rising hip-hop artists in the country are also the hardest working ones. Chris Greenwood, a.k.a. Manafest, is not an exception to this rule, but rather a measure to which others are compared to. Spare moments were always lent to writing lyrics, perfecting flow patterns, weekends were devoted to local concerts and "home" was spelt "s.t.u.d.i.o." Dedication. Drive. Discipline. The three D's that would soon result in a fourth - Deal.

Not unlike how Eminem caught his big break when Dre heard him freestyling on a Los Angeles radio station, Manafest's CD fell into the hands of Trevor McNevan, lead vocalist from renowned Toronto-based alternative rock group Thousand Foot Krutch.

Manafest's talent was unequivocal. And so, the snowball effect had begun. With CD in hand, Trevor brought these distinctively bold lyrics to the top of Tooth & Nail Records and it wasn't long before the inevitable call was made. A record deal was in the works.

The story doesn't end there, but rather it has just begun. Manafest is currently rereleasing his first full-length album under the Tooth & Nail label. Tour dates continue to be scheduled. Local concerts in Ontario happen nearly every weekend. His music video is on high rotation. Record sales continue to grow. But Manafest maintains his commitment to what got him there. Because the fastest rising hip-hop artists in the country are also the hardest working ones.
