Lupe Fiasco removed from stage after performing one verse from Words I Never Said for 30 mins
Rapper and activist Lupe Fiasco was kicked off stage after performing anti-Obama lyrics at the StartUp RockOn concert in celebration of Obama's second term in Washington, D.C. He took the opportunity to say his feelings about the president even though he was asked to move on the next song.
Lupe performed the same verse from his Lasers single “Words I Never Said” (featuring the lines "Gaza strip was getting bombed, Obama didn't say shit/That's why I ain't vote for him, next one either") for at least 30 minutes.
"Things going terribly wrong at @lupefiasco performance during #SURO. Kicked off stage, bashing obama," tweeted CNN’s Matt Dornic. "#SURO slammed by @lupefiasco’s nonstop, anti-obama rap. Corporate sponsors scurrying."
In 2011 Lupe Fiasco called Obama a terrorist. "In my fight against terrorism, to me, the biggest terrorist is Obama in the United States of America," he said.
