"The Beginning of Lugnut..."

Lugnut is a four piece metal band from Hammond, Indiana. They formed in late 98' after John Heino (drummer) and Joe Grenchik (guitar) hooked up and started jamming. In need of a bass player and singer they needed to look no further than Johns younger brother Jason Heino (bass) and his good friend Steve Strain (vocals). Now complete, Lugnut wasted no time writing songs. Inspired by bands like Black Sabbath, (old) Metallica, Anthrax, and Pantera they stayed away from the whole rap metal trend (which was big at the time) and wrote aggressive, hard hitting metal that the fans and the music scene had been deprived of. After taking time off in the Spring of 99' Lugnut reemerged in 2000 playing shows with the same "what you see is what you get" attitude that drove them in the beginning. They went to the studio and recorded five songs for thier Straight out the Basement demo and have been going strong ever since. Staying true to themselves Lugnut has always done what they wanted to despite the musical climate and other any other band style. The line up of the band has never changed and neither has their attitude. They continnue to keep the music scene real and bring you hard hitting music for your enjoyment.
