LEGACY, a band out of Southern California founded by Bass player and songwriter Marten Andersson (Bio). Marten is constantly in demand for his extraordinary playing ability, this Swedish born musician has carved his right as one of the best bass players around. Following in the footsteps of Billy Sheehan, Geezer Butler and Gene Simmons. Marten is a highly respected musician who is known for his playing and recording with Lizzy Borden, George Lynch (Dokken/Lynch Mob), Starwood, Jonas Hansson Band, Joy Basu among others. Marten recorded and toured the World with Lizzy Borden for 16 years, sharing stages and tours with bands such as: Deep Purple, Kings X, Dio, Yngwie Malmsteen, Motorhead & more. Lizzy Borden previewed their latest CD "Deal With the Devil" and their world wide tour at "The Wacken Festival" in Germany, in front of 35 thousand screaming fans. Marten Andersson most recently finished his fifth tour with Dokken/Lynch Mob guitarist George Lynch and his Lynch Mob. The line-up was George Lynch - Guitars, Marten Andersson - Bass, Andrew Freeman - vocals, Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath/Dio) - drums. Including a much talked about feature on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Marten Andersson is the bass player of the band "Starwood". Starwood recently released their debut record "if it ain’t broke, break it!" worldwide on Metalblade Records, with videos for the songs “Subculture” and "Bad Machine". The band did a successful Japan run and are currently in the studio recording their follow up CD to If It Aint Broke, break It!

Marten recorded two CD's entitled "Second to None" (1996) and "The Rocks" (2000) with "The Jonas Hansson Band" (Roadrunner Records) Jonas Hansson Band features members from bands such as Alice Cooper, Alcatraz, Marty Friedman Band (Megadeth) and Silver Mountain.

Marten is the author of the book "Make Label Contact/The Ultimate U.S. Source Directory" a reference and musicians tool guide, aimed specifically towards musicians for record companies and demo submissions. Published by SCI Publishing

Marten has worked as a model and actor; Acting work include; "Sweet Justice" (Melissa Gilbert), "The Net" (Sandra Bullock), "Midnight Heat", "Divas", "To the end of Times". Marten also modeled merchandise for disco diva Gloria Gaynor. Marten Andersson was featured in "The Hollywood Pet Celebrity Calendar" together with famous actors and models such as Ally Walker (Profiler), Donna Peele, Fabio, Alison Eastwood (Clint Eastwoods daughter) and Robert Culp among others. This calendar is very affordable and the proceeds goes to charity. He has also been the guest rockstar XXX movie reviewer in OUI and Hustler Magazine. Added to Legacy is Jonas Hansson, a Swedish born guitarist and an old friend of Marten's. Jonas is best known for his work with the Swedish acclaimed hardrock outfit "Silver Mountain" in which he recorded four albums. Jonas Hansson is the founder of "Silver Mountain"and would be considered by many as the first guitar ace to emerge from Scandinavia. Silver Mountain released their debut album, "SHAKIN BRAINS" in Europe, Japan and the USA to rave reviews. It was said that this band was one of the most talented of the new wave era of European heavy metal groups. 2 of Silver Mountains members, Anders Johansson (drums) and Jens Johansson (keyboards) left the band shortly after the release of "Shakin Brains", to join "Rising Force", a new band featuring, the Swedish guitar ace "Yngwie Malmsteen".

Jonas recruits new members and records the second Silver Mountain album "Universe". The band toured Japan and a year later released the live album entitled "HIBIYA-LIVE IN JAPAN". Silver Mountain recorded their final album before disbanding, entitled "ROSES AND CHAMPAGNE". Jonas has since released four solo albums under the name "The Jonas Hansson Band". "The Jonas Hansson Band" features drummer Jan Uvena (Alcatraz, Alice Cooper) Vocalist Stanley Rose (Marty Friedman band) and once again Marten Andersson handling the bass duties.
