Laura Bell Bundy

Laura Ashley Bell Bundy is currently starring in Legally Blonde: The Musical on Broadway as "Elle Woods". Most recently she played Sherrie Christian in the musical "Rock of Ages". However, Miss Bundy is no stranger to the stage, having starred in both Hairspray (Tony Award-winning Musical) and Wicked. In Hairspray, she originated the role of Amber Von Tussle, and in Wicked, she was a standby for the role of Glinda The Good Witch. From the age of nine, Laura Bell has been performing. As a child, Off-Broadway, she originated the role of Tina Denmark in Ruthless, The Musical!, earning her both Outer Critics Circle & Drama Desk award Nominations for an Outstanding Actress in a Musical. Regionally, Laura played Dainty June in Gypsy, starring Betty Buckley and Deborah Gibson, and toured with yet another star, Marie Osmond, in the Sound of Music.

Though Laura's theatre credits are abundant, she also has a wealth of television and film experience. On the big screen, Miss Bundy appeared in the hit film, Dreamgirls, as well as Jumanji, Life With Mikey, and The Adventures of Huck Finn. She has made guest appearances on television programs including Happy Hour for FOX, Modern from the WB, Cold Case for CBS, Veronica Mars for UPN, and Strangers with Candy for Comedy Central. Pilots in which Laura has had leading roles in include Dirtbags for FOX and All Grown Up for CBS. One of her biggest television achievements was playing the role of Marah Lewis on the soap opera, The Guiding Light from 1999-2001.

Miss Bundy is a talented recording artist with her own original sound. Her first release, entitled "I'll Be Home For Christmas", benefited her own charity as well as the Bluegrass Area Jass Association (BAJA). Her latest album, is in a genre all its own, "Y'alternative". "Longing for a Place Already Gone" not only includes Laura Bell's favorite tunes, but her own unique songs as well. The album has just recently been released.

Becoming an accomplished performer, actress, and singer is an extraordinary feat in itself, but Laura Bell's talents do not end there. As a small girl, she designed hair ribbons, which were only the beginner of her career as a designer. Currently she is the co-designer and founder of a brand new line, Schmancy Purses. Some of the bags are even being used in Legally Blonde: The Musical! Not impressive enough? Check out Laura's charity, Kreative Kids Foundation!

Laura Bell's career is only beginning and her star is rising to the top quickly, but like any "overnight sensation", it took hard work and perseverance to get where she is today.
