One of Lara's earliest experiences in music was while studying at Fountain's School in Nigeria where she played an active role in the choir for four years. She then went on to a Methodist girls school where she continued to sing in the choir there and take part in school plays. Leeds School of dance - RSA in contemporary Jazz, ballet and creative dance. Leeds Afro-caribean carnival - solo performances. Potato room players - Musical " Best Little Whorehouse in Texas". Various Talent competitions in Leeds and London function gigs, Charity balls - A mix of Jazz, Funk , Blues and Gospel Radio shows Musical Theatre at Bradford Uni. Theatre group. Rag week - Remixed Shirley bassey big spender President of dance society BBC children in need/telethon - Charity events including Diana Ross lookalike.
CURRENT WORK
Continuing to further her musical career, Lara is developing her own music label (Zolga Records) which is being launched with her limited release of her latest Jazz CD: "Live at the Underground". Lara has recently been doing various gigs and recordings including: "The New Mastersounds" (a leeds based funk band) at the 'Millenium Square' openening on New years Eve (2000), The Yardbird suite Xmas Party, Po-Na-Na in Manchester, various gigs around Leeds Live PA with DJ Wayne Sealey also on New Years eve 2000 at 'Norman's Bar', Leeds , Funk gigs with own band at the Hi-Fi club Leeds, Touring with the James taylor Quartet in USA, UK , Europe, Asia
