Kofeina

Putting together the dark and atmospheric sound with soulful lyrics and sincere emotions, Kofeina is one of the most interesting bands in Polish alternative music today. Formed in May 2004 in Olsztyn (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship) by former members of Big Day and Loud for love; the band is comprised of Maciej Romanowski (guitar), Wojtek Olkowski (guitar), Jacek Olszewski (bass guitar), Arek Kowalski (drums) and Piotr Wasyluk (vocals). In January 2005 the band recorded their first four-song promotional demo entitled “Gravity” in Olsztyn’s Studio X. The title song topped the Alternative Hit List on UWM FM radio station and is still in the heavy rotation. The song was also picked as song of the year by Artlist 95,9 FM. In November 2005, Kofeina once again entered the studio, this time to record an EP named “Shoot the star”. In the three years they have been together, the band has toured extensively throughout their homeland playing both, small venues and the big Polish festivals (Generacja 2006 in Koszalin). Their songs were featured on the famous MiniMax and presented by one of the most influencial music journalists in Poland - Piotr Kaczkowski (the director of Polish National Radio Programme 3).
