Video premiere: Keri Hilson 'Pretty Girl Rock'
Keri Hilson has premiered a music video for her song called Pretty Girl Rock directed by Joseph Kahn and the clip is getting mixed reviews.
It is either you love it or you hate it – let us dive in the short film to better comprehend the matter. On one side one will find the clip fascinating and very creative – thanks to its black and white opener where Keri can be seen going back to the 20′s to take on the role of Josephine Baker and eventually slides under the skin of Dorothy Dandridge who was the first African American woman to receive a nomination in any Academy Award category in 1955.
As the mini movie roles on Keri continues to embody several major figures of the past and present. She turned into Diana Ross, marched on in a military outfit and black boots to Janet Jackson's iconic Rhythm Nation, impersonated Beyonce and ended her mission through time with T-Boz of TLC.
In the finale scene Miss Keri Baby appears as herself dressed very casually standing in front of a black scene. The concept if the clip is very original, fresh and has a strong positive message behind.
