Kenyo

Kenyo is a Filipino band and one of the freshest bands of the country, emerged after the disbandment of Orange and Lemons. The members are natives from Bulakan and generally termed as Bulakenyos. Members decided to burst the “bula”, and called themselves Kenyo. They looked up to a famous composer, Rey Valera who is also a Bulakenyo.

Kenyo is a band of three. Led by an ex-Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition 2, Mcoy Fundales together with the other Orange and Lemon members, the Del Mundo brothers, JM and Ace are making their way to be recognized as the Kenyos. Mcoy is the band’s vocals and guitars, JM on bass and Ace on guitars. In addition, Cleng Ocampo played the guitars and Aries Villalon on drums.

Here the story goes:

Mcoy Fundales, Clem Castro and the Del Mundo brothers, JM and Ace composed the band, Orange and Lemons, the once country’s most successful bands. After 10 year in making beautiful music together and 10 solid album, Orange and Lemons all went to sour and the unity comes to an end. Individual differences were said to be the reason of disbandment.

Surprisingly, a new band emerged with nothing but good memories of Orange and Lemons. Except from Clem Castro, who is making another band, the remaining three formed the Kenyo. This served as an opening for a new chapter as musicians. Now, they were equipped with new excitement and sounds like a new band instead of Orange and Lemons without a guitarist.

The group has not only changed its name but also in their music, now, more edgy in a musical sense. As an outcome of the group’s common passion, Kenyo produced music that is fun, care-free, flexible, pliable, unpretentious, innovative, witty and significant. Despite of their obvious prowess in music, they stayed grounded, staying true to their music and an infinite dose of patience.
